The practice

When we designed, configured and furnished ORTHOSPINUM Munich, two aspects were very close to our hearts:

On the one hand, we wanted to create an innovative and versatile centre of excellence for the conservative and surgical treatment of spinal disorders and injuries, while simultaneously also creating a focal point for general orthopedics and sports traumatology.

On the other, we wanted our practice to have a service-oriented atmosphere that made patients feel comfortable from the moment they stepped through the door.

This is why we created processes that allow us to conduct all ORTHOSPINUM Munich services efficiently, quickly and comfortably. We always treat you with kindness, attention and a great deal of personal commitment. This applies both to your all-important first discussion, your diagnostic treatment and consultation with the doctor regarding suitable tailored therapy options, and to the phase of your aftercare. We will also help you with prevention.

You can find us in the centre of Munich at Sendlinger Straße 13. We are just a few minutes walk away from Marienplatz and Munich’s main shopping area. This is another aspect that adds to our practice’s high level of patient-friendliness, as our central location near to various transport links makes it easy for patients who are older, mobility-impaired or who have orthopaedic conditions to visit us for a consultation. Our orthopedic practice does, of course, have step-free access.

Dr Oliver Oetke

The founder and medical director of ORTHOSPINUM Munich has over 15 years of experience in the field of conservative and surgical spinal therapy, in addition to his well-founded general orthopedic expertise. From the very start of his specialist training, he focused on spinal care and acquired a range of surgical techniques that will benefit you during the course of your treatment. He has also attained a master’s certificate from the German Spinal Society. Dr Oetke is a very competent and experienced orthopedic specialist to see you through your minimally invasive spinal pain therapy. Dr Oetke speaks fluent English, so you can explain your issues to him directly.

Team

From your first visit to our practice reception through to your regular follow-up appointments for your closely monitored orthopedic aftercare: The well-organised, dedicated and sympathetic ORTHOSPINUM team is always here for you! In addition to the necessary expertise, our entire team has plenty of empathy and compassion, because you – the patient – are the focus of our attention. This is why we’re also happy to support you in administrative issues, too – for example, with questions relating to registering orthopedic services with health insurance providers.

We are also happy to help with the organisation of your stay in Munich and provide tips for choosing hotels or directions to the practice.

Diagnostics

In addition to the discussion of your medical history, imaging procedures are an important part of diagnostics. Sonography and X-rays give us the opportunity to see your musculature, tendons, bones and joints. MRI and CT, on the other hand, allow us to take very detailed images of the corresponding areas of the body, and to thereby identify small, painful changes, and act accordingly.

Examinations are carried out by Dr Oetke on site wherever possible, in order to avoid or minimise follow-up appointments.
